Also referred to as cement sand, when mixed together with water and cement, building sand creates mortar which is then used to bond bricks together, hence the old adage, bricks and mortar!
WHAT IS CEMENT SAND MIX
At it's very basic level, sand is a loose fragmented granulated substance. It is naturally occurring and is made up from erosion of rocks consisting of silica such as siliceous limestone. Decomposition of corals, shells and other rock types all play their part in the formation of sand. Obviously from here on, sand can be used in a number of ways to provide strength, volume other building properties to concrete and construction.
